The Sourcing Specialist will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
Be responsible for supporting project activities with moderate complexity

Follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives

Be able to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning

Place Purchase Orders (PO) within SAP and obtain order acknowledgements from suppliers

Negotiate PO pricing, shipment / delivery dates, and payment terms with suppliers

Analyze and track supplier promise date accuracy and develop reports to ensure supplier promise date accuracy

Expedite supplier delivery of goods and services to meet project requirement dates

Track and receive shipments when delivered to destination

Coordinate with freight forwarders the timely delivery of equipment to the client

Process and complete packing lists, commercial invoices, NAFTA certifications, and other shipment documents

Identify and qualify new suppliers

Write reports to track PO activity and supplier performance on the project

Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals

Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability


Bachelor’s Degree an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with minimum 10 years Sourcing experience)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Prior Sourcing / Procurement experience

Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills

Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite products

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work / coordinate with other members of project team

Project and EPC sourcing and purchasing experience

Experience with SAP ERP System

Six Sigma training (GE Employees only)
