Work collaboratively with the general education curriculum specialists.

Qualifications:
  • Valid certificate from accredited college or university
  • Special Education endorsement/certification
  • Master's degree, preferred

Duties:
  • Modify all district curriculum benchmark assessments (CBAs) according to the TEA guidelines
  • Develop and distribute scope and sequence documents that are aligned to the district curriculum for modified courses (i.e.: C-Scope Modified Scope & Sequence for MAC courses)
  • Coordinate revision of SPED curriculum documents, as needed
  • Support SPED program specialists with curricular needs for all content areas (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies)
  • Communicate regularly with Coordinator of Instructional Services on the status of content modifications to district assessments, curriculum documents and instructional methods
  • Conduct classroom observations to monitor effectiveness of modifications
  • Work with the Coordinator of Instructional Services and general education curriculum specialists to plan professional development for teachers and staff members in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Analyze STAAR, STAAR-M, STAAR-Alt, and district assessments as a means of continuous improvement

Experience:

Minimum 5 years, 3 years as a special education teacher

This position works 195 days
