This position teaches students with autism or those who exhibit behaviors associated with autism. Requires frequent collaboration and training with district behavior and autism specialists.
Experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) preferred; willingness and ability to begin and continue training in ABA.
In order to be considered for an interview applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, copy of transcripts, teaching certificate, and evidence of highly qualified status.
- hold a current Alaska teaching certificate
- hold a special education endorsement and have 6 credit hours of early childhood/pre-school coursework - OR pre-school listed as a grade level on special education endorsement.
- be highly qualified in elementary education

Because this position may involve working unsupervised with preschool children on a regular basis, the successful applicant will be required to complete a background check through the state of Alaska Background Check Program. This is in addition to the district’s regular background check requirements. The total cost to the applicant is $128 and payment is due at the time of new hire orientation.
