The Special Events Coordinator, will execute and communicate special events within the assigned geographic region or Family of Business for Macy's Southwest and Southcentral. This position networks and partners with a combination of internal and external resources including key executives in the stores as well community partners and vendors.
Key Accountabilities :
Designing, planning and executing sales-driving, brand-building, publicity worthy in-store special events in collaboration with Macy's vendors and other strategic partners; includes managing outside vendors, such as stylists, rental companies and sound companies. Manage all communication to internal and external partners
Managing relationships with all district store teams, vendors, sponsors, internal clients, vendors and community partners
Developing relationships with area organizations of all kinds that translate into event opportunities; identifying outside sponsors for Macy's special events to offset departmental expense through cash sponsorship or in-kind donations
Developing partnerships with external groups, and charitable organizations to ensure targeted marketing and outreach for event attendance.
Providing Macy's event marketing advertising copy by deadline for newspaper, online, radio, and in-store formats and coordinating the internal and external advertising approval processes. Order and place event poster signs
Offering creative, relevant and unique event ideas. Have the pulse on current events, pop culture and new concepts.
Managing event budget, including writing purchase orders, submitting invoices, tracking expense, following up with vendors, and compiling seasonal forecasts
Evaluating Macy's event marketing initiatives from both quantitative (e.g., sales, attendance) and qualitative standpoints (e.g., event flow, branding opportunity, in kind donations); reporting results to management for improvement for future events
Attending, evaluating competitive events.

Ability to work weekends, key holidays and off hours as to meet business needs
Ability to travel to regional store locations as business dictates
Must be very comfortable working with key partners in multiple cities
