The position performs payroll processing duties to process a bi-weekly payroll for 4500+ employees. The duties include interfacing with off-site administration groups, assisting employees with questions, and performing other payroll duties as required.
Calculates and analyzes complex leave pay, drawing data from HSN leave policies, third party administrators and employee time off requests.
Balances earnings and deduction totals to Peoplesoft automated system reports to determine and correct out-of-balance conditions.
Run processes and reports in Peoplesoft as required to process bi-weekly and weekly payrolls.
Calculate adjustments to pay including retroactive pay changes, military pay and pay period splits due to mid-period changes to employees’ status.
Process garnishments and levies through creating and processing payment checks to agencies.
Requires a thorough understanding of legal requirements for different types of garnishments.
Works closely with off-site administration personnel in resolving payroll issues for their employees.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of policies as they affect payroll.
May train less experienced payroll practitioners.
Requires a minimum of 4 years of increasingly responsible payroll processing experience. An Associates degree is required unless replaced by additional corresponding experience of 2 years for every year of education.
Requires intermediate skill in using the Peoplesoft Payroll System.
Requires ability to use MS Word and MS Excel in the daily functions of the position.
Requires intermediate knowledge of Kronos timekeeping system.
Ability to lift boxes weighing 25-35 pounds.
