Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc (TEMA) is the alignment of Toyota's North American R&D and manufacturing operations, joining the operations, planning and technical functions. Established in April 2006, TEMA strengthens Toyota's North American customer focus, through improved supplier cooperation, overall speed, flexibility and attention to quality. TEMA headquarters in Erlanger, KY, house the Toyota Operations Center and the Toyota Planning Center. The main offices for the Toyota Technical Center are in Ann Arbor, MI.

What is the purpose/role of this position?
The primary purpose of this role is to support the TEMA Shipping Quality Audit in the role of specialist (auditor). The person filling this position will be a part of a team that visits each Toyota North American vehicle manufacturing plant to audiot representative samples of the completed product.
Manage operation/function.
Audit vehicles using skilled nonconformance detection capability, correct judgement criteria, and correct application of standards
Collect, record and analyze data and develop accurate and timely reports
Trains and evaluates less experienced team member auditors
Lead/manage team members.
Fill temporary lead roles when an assistant manager is unavailable
Lead KYT's and JHA's with fellow auditors on-site at NAMC's
Lead process reviews at the conclusion of each audit
Manage projects.
Internal section administrative business such as budget development and tracking
Research, recommend, and purchase equipment as required
Special project activity such as request for data and/or analysis by executives and NAMC's
Actual dollar value of projects range from negligible to lower six figures
Manage processes.
Develop and maintain WISDOM sheets for process standardization
Review audit facilities and equipment at NAMC's and determine methods and support needed to efficiently and safely perform audit processes
Confirm and incorporate changes in the global Shipping Quality Audit Standards (SQAS) to local audit practice
Resolve problems.
Use data, lessons learned, and tacit knowledge to analyze differences in performance audit to audit and plant to plant
Lead genchi genbutsu activities to understand issues and define root causes
Use TBP on both an individual and group level to determine root cause and c/m
Develop business plans and strategies.
Based on unique knowledge, provide input into section hoshin kanri development and budget planning
Support development and execution of yearly audit schedule. Requires flexibility and portability of plans in order to meet changing organizational needs
Provide input into both short and long tern range planning
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Automobile component "hands on" experience (to include ability to correctly identify vehicle components and systems)
Leadership role experience (to include commonly practiced leadership applications such as Quality Circle activity, project leadership, team leader or group leader role, etc)
Toyota manufacturing, vehicle testing or investigation experience
Vehicle manufacturing process, inspection, audit or engineering experience (to include "hands on" experience in daily operations in any of the the above areas)
Preferred:
Automotive audit or inspection experience
Dynamic evaluation experience
Common evaluation and audit tool usage experience (to include gages, calipers, levelness gage and gap gage)
Multi-division or cross-functional project management experience (to include capability of initiating, developing, leading, managing, prioritizing work, meeting milestones, gaining consensus, and reporting out status of project)
Toyota NAMC shipping quality auditor experience
Job Requirement
Overtime of 15% is required.
Travel: 50-75%
