We currently have a Specialty Sales Representative position open in our Intermountain Region. The ideal candidate will reside or have the ability to relocate to the Boise area.
Specialty Sales Representative establishes and maintains relationships with Wholesale customers, Wholesale Area Managers, specialty product vendors, and end users to promote the sales and marketing of specialty products; specifically Avail, NutriSphere-N and Specialty liquid fertilizers. The successful candidate will develop regional sales and marketing strategies to distinguish Simplot from competitors. Monitoring product availability and delivery and resolving customer concerns is crucial in this role. Candidate must work closely with Specialty Sales Lead, as well as Wholesale Sales Management and Area Managers. Specialty Sales Representative is responsible for developing, implementing and executing a regional territory specialty product plan for substantial growth.
•Partner with Area Managers in assigned territory to manage specialty product sales. Positions Avail, NutriSphere-N and Specialty liquid products in the marketplace by influencing, training, product meetings and customer calls.
•Develop sales and marketing plans for specialty products within territory. Partner with Area Managers to implement and execute these plans.
•Develop substantial growth plans and implement strategies to meet or exceed growth targets.
•Resolve customer concerns, logistics, pricing, etc. Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports and developing budget inputs.
•Bachelors Degree from four year college or university, or related direct sales and/or marketing experience and training.
•Prefer knowledge of fertilizer and related products with an understanding of agriculture industry segments.
•Strong sales, marketing, pricing, and customer segmenting knowledge required.
•Experience with introducing a new product or technology to market.
•Knowledge of key financial concepts aimed at generating acceptable and expected returns on invested capital.
•Sales skills, organizational skills and the ability to delineate and share these with others. Excellent customer service and communication skills essential. Able to be self motivated and work without direct supervision. Ability to coach and mentor other sales individuals. Ability to influence without authority.
•Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills required.
•Extensive travel required.
