The Rye YMCA is a high performing youth-service organization meeting the needs of the southern Westchester County region. We are seeking a qualified individual who will be responsible for the direct management of the sports department; youth classes, youth and adult leagues, an 8-week summer sports camp, and off-site programs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, history of developing positive relationships with both members and the community, as well as attributes of a strong role model. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Sports Coordinator will recruit, hire, train and develop staff and volunteers for year-round programming. The sports coordinator must excel at managing facilities, schedules, staff and an assortment of program resources.
Nights and weekends are often required throughout the school year (Monday through Friday during the summer). Candidates should expect to work at least 20 hours directly in program delivery and instruction.
- BA in Health, Physical Education, Recreation or equivalent in academic preparation or experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching or youth instructional experience
- Extensive program planning and curriculum development experience
$31,000 - 33,000 Annually
