Description and Qualifications
Transamerica Life Insurance Company, an AEGON company, is a leader in the worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years. AEGON is an international pension, insurance and financial services organization. Transamerica is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where nearly 4,000 individuals are employed.
This position will be located in the Corporate Division. Corporate provides centralized service and support to the AEGON USA operating companies. Services units include corporate accounting, actuarial, audit, benefits, business development, compliance, information technology, law and tax.
Perform analysis and communication of investment asset and activity results through application of skills and experience with investment asset accounting, problem-solving, and proactive coordination with multiple parties.
Analyze investment asset financial data and events to ensure appropriate accounting and reporting treatment and provide meaningful understanding of the results to business unit customers.
Implement change towards improving service, quality, and timeliness of results interpretation and analysis provided to customers
Interpret data to assess past financial performance and project financial results.
Access asset management system data and proactively coordinate with team members in creation of custom reports to meaningfully address ad-hoc inquiries from business units and other customers
Assume a lead relationship role with business unit contacts
Be a key contributor on project teams (e.g., supporting strategic goals, improving management information, re-designing processes).
Communicate effectively with other departments and divisions to ensure business issues are resolved completely and accurately in a timely and meaningful manner.
There is currently 1 opening in this department. The candidate will be hired as an Intermediate Financial Analyst or a Sr Financial Analyst based upon qualifications, skills, and organizational needs. Please see below for the qualifications for each level:
Qualifications for Sr. Financial Analyst Level:
A bachelors or masters accounting and/or finance degree is required, with CPA or CFA credentials a plus. Generally at least 5 years previous experience with investments in an accounting, financial reporting, and/or analysis role.
Qualifications for Int. Financial Analyst Level:
A bachelors or masters accounting and/or finance degree is required, with CPA or CFA credentials a plus. Two years previous experience with investments in an accounting, financial reporting, and/or analysis role.
