Under general supervision, the Sr. Financial Analyst performs complex budgeting and accounting functions; conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and analyses according to prescribed guidelines; performs related duties as required. This position will support multiple Sales Operations groups in the Domestic Sales organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None; provides assistance and guidance to other staff assigned to business units within supported business vertical.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting
Performs complex accounting functions for business units
Coordinate, prepare and review month-end closing process, accounting entries and documents
Perform periodic review of financial reports and verify accuracy

Budgeting
Develop annual budgets - coordinates the development, implementation and control of budgets by preparing, balancing, compiling, and entering budget data

Create quarterly forecasts
Perform statistical analysis of revenue and expense versus budgets
Monitor and evaluate budgets and forecasts

Communications and Technical Support
Maintain communication with internal clients regarding financial matters
Provide information and technical support in the development and revision of processes

Financial Reporting
Assist in managing the Division's financial and sales reporting functions
Preparing overall divisional sales and product reports
Assist in the month-end close process

Perform variance analysis
Create and maintain statistical reports
Provide ad hoc reports and analysis for various managers as requested
Develop new reports as necessary to improve divisional efficiency
Plan and monitor timelines to meet strict deadlines in reporting as required

Research and Data Analysis
Identify key trends impacting revenue, expense and EBITDA
Research and analyze financial data for internal clients
Create, organize, and maintain files related to sales and commission reporting using database and spreadsheet programs
Retrieve and organize data into required reporting formats
Collect, retrieve and organize data to identify financial discrepancies and resolve issues
Recommend solutions and ensure corrections or changes are implemented properly.

Development of business process models for use in managing selling aspects of business

Developing robust pipeline reporting process and analysis framework
Customer profiling
Commission modeling
Analysis of sales implementations

Requirements:
Systems/Applications Knowledge Required
Microsoft Excel (highly skilled)
Microsoft Access (skilled, including reporting)
SAP R/3, Business Warehouse
Preferred
Crystal Reports
Salesforce.com
Business Objects Explorer (or similar)

Experience and Education
Required
BS in Business, Finance or Accounting
3-5 years related work experience
Knowledge of GAAP
Understanding of control models
Broad understanding of business requirements
Professional Consulting Services knowledge
Experience building budgets and forecasts
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work with business leaders across the enterprise
Strong quantitative skills

Preferred
CPA a plus
MBA a plus
Familiarity with financial applications
Familiarity with financial modeling tools
Publishing Industry knowledge
Technical Accounting knowledge
Business Process analysis and design
Assist in the month-end close process
