Sr IT Business Analyst - Merchandising

The focus of this role will center on driving the definition and documentation of business requirements for meat processing and distribution related projects, and translating business requirements into technical design documents. Partner with business and IT representatives to validate current functionality and to develop future requirements. In addition to business requirements, this position is also responsible for the development of user interface design requirements and testing strategies including use cases and test scripts.

Own business relevant input in the development of the charter to define scope, requirements, goals, implementation plan, system and UAT (user acceptance testing). Identify metrics to define success.

Prepare business requirements document to define overall technical requirements and design.

Prepare business use cases for use in defining detailed technical requirements and business procedures.

Prepare business impact assessment that highlights the system impact on current systems and business processes.

Facilitate workshops to document current and future work process flows. This includes responsibility mapping, work flow diagrams, and management metrics used to control business processes.

Define user security need and defines user security groups, enabling restriction of users and maintenance of corporate security standards.

Support development of test scripts consistent with use cases to be used in quality center testing environment.

Prepare and maintain requirements traceability matrix to facilitate tracking of UAT failures.

Define, plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), report results, and obtain business sign-off. Coach business in set up and conduct of UAT.

Support testing team in the maintenance of defects and enhancements log from UAT.

Update business process documentation, including work flows, RACI charts, and procedures.

Assist in design and development of user training modules and documentation.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of general business experience.

2+ years of business analysis experience within an IT-related environment.

Experience in gathering detailed business requirements, interpreting customer business needs, and translating needs into technical design requirements.

Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Familiarity with formal testing management practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with supply chain, production, or manufacturing applications.

Experience in a consumer packaged goods (manufacturer, retailer, or distributor) environment.

Familiarity with project management concepts and tools.

Prior experience with modeling languages (i.e., UML or BPMN).

Experience with HP Quality Center for QA & testing.

Experience with business process modeling tools (i.e. ARIS, webMethods).

Experience with any of the following: Use cases; Test scripts; and/or UAT.

Experience with Visio.

IIBA certification.

Bachelor's Degree

Familiarity with JIT process manufacturing.

Exposure to Agile methodology.

Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 10%
