Job Description:
We are seeking a senior level engineer with strong research experience in biometrics algorithm development. Our team develops and evaluates 2D and 3D imaging solutions for operation with cutting edge long range 3D imaging sensor designed for biometric applications.

As a Sr. Image Processing Engineer, you are excited by solving challenging imaging problems, and are knowledgeable of the latest technology in the industry. Our team approaches problems as both individuals and teams, so you need to be a highly creative individual contributor, as well as have the ability to solve complex problems as member of a team. You possess the ability to work under minimal supervision with other engineers and scientists to develop and implement new and improved system capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Algorithm development, design, and implementation
• Algorithm validation and analysis on public and private databases
• Adaptation and optimization of R&D algorithms to production-quality software
• Work with the software team to accelerate internal timelines
Minimum Qualifications:
MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
· At least 5 years conducting research in computer vision or pattern recognition
· At least 5 years experience designing, writing, and testing computer vision algorithms in MATLAB and C++
· Familiarity with evaluating biometric system performance
· Strong understanding of 2D image and 3D world geometry and their relationship
· Ability to independently and successfully implement cutting edge algorithms as demonstrated in the research literature
· Ability to make adaptations to existing approaches to improve practicality of deployment while still maintaining accurate algorithm performance
· Ability to produce novel, but mathematically defensible, approaches to problems
· Good communications skills, both written and verbal
· Strong code optimization and debugging skills
· Experience and background with computer vision and image processing algorithms:
o Experience in low-level image processing (i.e. noise reduction, edge detection, morphological filtering, etc.)
o Experience and/or familiarity with leading feature extraction algorithms (SURF, SIFT, Gabor, LBP, etc.)
o Experience and/or familiarity with standard pattern recognition algorithms (i.e. PCA, LDA, Sparse Representation, Kernel methods, SVM’s, Adaboost, Neural Networks,
etc. )
o Practical work experience in understanding and integrating OpenCV algorithms into applications.
Desired Qualifications:
Education: PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
· Face recognition or biometric research
· 3D Image Processing
· Experience with techniques that use 3D models to improve 2D images for face recognition
· GPU and/or experience writing multi-threaded applications
Physical Requirements: *
  • Ability to frequently sit, and reach within hands and arms length. *
  • Regularly required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc. *
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.

Work Environment: *
  • Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office with daily interaction in the production/manufacturing/lab areas. *
  • The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate
