AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) is a global, research-based biopharmaceutical company formed in 2013 following separation from Abbott. AbbVie combines the focus and passion of a leading-edge biotech with the expertise and capabilities of a long-established pharmaceutical leader to develop and market advanced therapies that address some of the world
Accomplished Immunohistochemist who will make substantial contributions to the conception, execution and communication of novel multi-disciplinary research strategies in Immunology drug discovery programs in a highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will w
ork in a group providing research in target validation, target distribution, animal model development, and in performing molecular and toxicologic pathology in pharmacology and exploratory safety studies.
A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to work closely with Biologics to understand how physical and targeting properties of Biologic molecules alters their distribution, penetration and retention in tissues.
Using histology and immunohistochemistry techniques, the candidate will characterize and quantify local expression and in vivo distribution of Biologics to guide understanding of targeted approaches to Drug Discovery, generating high-quality, stage-gate appropriate data packages supporting compound transitions. The successful candidate will also design in vivo studies to support histologic endpoints and evaluate utility of additional novel antibody detection techniques tissue mass spec imaging to in vivo imaging technologies.
In addition, he/she will develop new techniques and technologies to increase confidence on the translatability of findings to human disease. It is expected that the candidate will utilize his/her expertise to generate external collaborations with key opinion leaders to identify opportunities for novel technologies
