Overall Job Summary: Top level information specialist whom may act as an internal consultant on the most complex technical issues; demonstrated capacity for work group management is required to progress. Individuals in this position lead and advise others on complex systems analysis, programming, or systems administration tasks, manage the most complex projects, serve as primary technical contact for a work group or project teams, work under severe deadlines and workload, assist with objectives development, and work independently to complete tasks. Primary Accountabilities include: Primary internal consultant leading systems analysis, systems management, and systems implementation projects; Subject matter expert advising management and work group members on complex information technology issues; Work under extreme task loads with complete understanding of client business practices and requirements; Assist with objectives definition, determine tasks, work independently, provide technical work center leadership; Represent organization; serve as primary organizational contact on technically difficult projects; Advise top business and technical management on complex technical problems and advanced technical research; Train less experienced work group members on specific tasks and business and technical processes.
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, computer science, or equivalent technical field OR equivalent technical training

Entry level information technology internal consultant who provides technical leadership in implementing and managing AIX in support of Alcon's business applications. Emphasis will be on supporting Global Supply Chain Line of Business and Red Prairie's Distribution Software. Works under severe business related deadlines and workload. Usually under general direction, should be able to identify, define and recommend AIX related solutions to meet long-range Global IT goals. Ability to work as a lead consultant providing technical leadership for the Data Control group or inter-division group focused on organizational and enterprise objectives.
10 + years in computer related field with significant AIX, RAC, ASM, Windows, and distribution software experience. Knowledge of Red Prairie or other leading distribution software and AIX systems administration; working knowledge of EMC Storage Area Network (SAN), Oracle, MQSeries, RDMS, and shell Programming; experience in FDA regulated environment and familiarity with ITIL standards.
