Manage and develop teams of people performing various tasks required to ensure the accuracy of franchise accounting / bookkeeping items. Manage a team of people responsible for accounting for conversion convenience stores, integrated and non-integrated stores. Ensure that all accounting departments' tasks are completed in timely fashion to accomplish the goal of successful on-boarding and accounting for acquisition stores. Support a system conversion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible of identification, design and implementation of process improvements for assigned functional areas of responsibility.
•Work with departmental management to identify and implement strategies for process improvements resulting in improved work quality and increased cost savings.
•Define and monitor KPMÆs related to functional area of responsibility (provide continuous recommendations for improvements based on the analytical review of these measures).
•Responsible for defining and monitoring proper and adequate internal controls maintained including maintaining process flow documentation.
•Serve as business process owner for cross-functional initiatives throughout the company, ensure that new processes and initiatives can be implemented efficiently and effectively while maintaining adequate internal controls.
•Responsible for maintaining SOX documentation, policies, and controls within areas of functional responsibility Work closely with Director for execution of project initiatives and complex analyses related to franchise & acquisition accounting, presentations, issues, analysis, follow-up.
•Manage budgetary, administrative and human resource related tasks required for management of team of employees.
•Provide senior manager level representation for enterprise-wide projects managed by accounting; Leader for team of people responsible for planning and implementation of complex enterprise-wide projects, including systems conversion and related process improvement.
•Responsible to lead team of people responsible for ensuring Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are properly applied to a variety of complex issues in a retail business environment.
•Responsible for month-end Close, accuracy of balances and entries, franchise draws and controls, and elevating relevant issues to Sr. Director.
•Other ad hoc projects, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education: Masters and CPA
Experience: 7-10, Accounting and Project Management
Expert knowledge of Oracle (or other similar systems), Microsoft Office products; strong aptitude for quickly understanding different systems and process flows
Experience and proficiency in the areas of process design and re-engineering
Strong Project Management experience and aptitude
Multi-unit experience or strong COS, Inventory/Merchandise accounting experience
Solid interpersonal skills and diplomacy; to work within an environment of competing priorities, yet results driven
Supervisory experience and skill set is required
