Sr Manager, Project Management - Financial Services IT-732242

The Senior Manager of Program Management will support the Financial Services IT (FS IT) team, under the direction of the Head of IT Strategy & Governance. This leadership role will act as an organizational change agent – driving program and initiatives that span the FS IT organization.


Program Leadership

- Provide program management rigor to the FS IT organization

- Frame out strategic, white-space initiatives with a clear, accountable approach

- Communicate clarity of mission to the organization and key executive stakeholders

- Create leadership transparency to program goals, risks, and issues

- Build supporting coalitions and drive program to achieve successful outcomes

Process Strategy & Development

- Embrace Capital One process (Sigma/Lean) approach and intense (customer/quality) philosophy. Indoctrinate these tenets into the FS IT culture

- Visible process/change leader actively working with FS IT leadership to coach and nurture continuous improvement

- Making it easy for the organization to move on its process journey -- removing obstacles and evangelizing where necessary

- Standardize process and practices around Access Management, Pricing/Data Loads, and Payment Processing across FS IT in line with Capital One process approach.

- Facilitate and lead process development workshops to launch process activities

- Assisting in the change of systems/processes as required in support of process objectives

Process Execution

- Oversee and manage high quality process execution for the following FS IT processes: Associate On-boarding, Supplier Management, Corporate Real Estate Management, KnowledgeLink Administration

- Team Leadership

- Build a High Performing Team

- Develop Associates

- Create a positive associate experience


- Broad understanding of technology and concepts -- and able to make linkages between technical design and process excellence

- Able to quickly build relationships, partnerships, and influence with all levels (executive to front-line)

- Must be viewed credibly as a leader and positive influencer for change

- Able to energize and motivate teams

- Possess strong oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak multiple levels across the organization

- Able to balance both long and short term objectives – making progress on both simultaneously

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 2 years of experience in Project management
- 2 years of experience in People management
- 2 years of experience in Process management
- 2 years of experience in Relationship management

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Project Management
- PMP, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, COBIT, ITIL
- 5 years of experience in Project management
- 5 years of experience in People management
