The Sr Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
Perform plumbing and/or fire protection design on projects.
Develop mechanical system start-up and commissioning. Including but not limited to process mechanical systems (compressed air, process vacuum etc).
Execute mechanical design from conceptual design and criteria development through construction document production and provide engineering support during construction.
Develop system layouts, equipment sizing, selection and associated specification write-up.
Interface with multiple disciplines, project management, system owners, vendors and contractors.
Design mechanical dry-side HVAC and wet-side hydronic systems utilizing pipe stress analysis programs.
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
Minimum of ten years experience in HVAC analysis and design for industrial and/or high-tech manufacturing facilities.
Proficient in performing heat load calculations utilizing software programs (such as Trace 700).
Previous A&E firm design experience in semiconductor and cleanroom facilities (new or retrofit applications) preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical systems control philosophy including P&ID development.
Familiarity with applicable building codes and standards.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Valid driver’s license required. May be waived for international assignments.
Proficiency with any mechanical hydraulic/piping flow modeling software programs (such as PipeFlo).
Previous experience utilizing any CFD/air flow modeling software programs (such as TileFlow).
