The Role:
An Application Support Specialist i responsible for
simple to complex issues. When on-call, the Application
Support Specialist is expected to quickly respond to
business outages for impacted systems. The incumbent
will be assigned projects involving the maintenance and
development of our Customer Interaction Systems, system
setup, and ongoing maintenance of the lab environment,
patching, and other duties as required by the business.
The Application Support Specialist is also responsible
for augmenting our knowledge base. A demonstrated
ability to maintain and develop software in C# or Java
will also be expected. Depending upon demonstrated
ability and on-the-job performance, this position has
the potential to evolve into a full-time development
role.

Responsibilities:
  • Resolution of issues involving a moderate to a high
level of complexity
  • Development and maintenance of software written using
C#, Java, or other software development tools.
  • Documentation of known issues and processes
  • Patching and rebooting of servers
  • Special projects as defined by business manager
  • Respond to outages, within a defined windows of time,
both during normal operational hours and at other times
when serving as the on-call engineer.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • experience in developing or maintaining C# or Java
software systems or relevant course work at an
academic institution.
  • able to perform complex technical support for
mission-critical systems.
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree from a four
year college or university, and/or associated
experience (as noted above)
  • Current knowledge of Windows Server and Virtualized
Systems
  • Ability to learn complex new software systems
  • Knowledge of relational databases a plus
  • Understanding of Windows Services a plus
  • Knowledge of VoIP solutions and Contact Centers
