PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for planning and implementation of global marketing projects in the areas of trade shows, special events, and related promotional programs. Participates in the development of business plans and product promotion in support of marketing objectives. Plans, executes and ensures compliance with over 20 annual trade shows and special events varying in scope, with attendee participation between 100 and 11,000. Manage and oversee third party vendors with responsibility for implementing annual service contracts, statement of work, and purchase orders. Manage regional trade show program to include online website, graphics and property maintenance and budget reconciliation. Partner with US commercial sales force to ensure value added tools for customer engagement are provided at trade shows and special events.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

1. Consults with product management to develop communication objectives and strategies, and determine and manage the project budget and the production schedule.; 2. Provides direction to vendors by meeting to incorporate ideas, goals, themes, and budget for promotional material to ensure quality production and timely completion of projects.; 3. Acts as liaison between vendors, product managers and/or webmaster and facilitates communication to achieve consensus and complete the development of project.; 4. Quality check product at all stages of development and production process indicating changes where required to ensure quality of materials being produced.; 5. Gives final approval to vendor, marketing communications associate and/or webmaster after double-checking content and placement to ensure quality of finished product.; 6. Communicates with product management to develop tradeshow objectives and strategies, maintains associated budgets, and develops and manages timelines and schedules.; 7. Manages and coordinates trade show and special event applications through corporate purchasing and facilitates payment mechanism; 8. Proactively promotes expansion of e-marketing tactics as a major marketing communications tool, domestically, and internationally.; 9. Actively promotes Abbott Vascular brand by ensuring projects meet corporate brand standards.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments. Participates in mentoring less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel. Will lead project teams. Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. Influences middle management on technical or business solutions. Will interact with vendors. Plans and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments. Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Solid understanding and application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has a sound knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on their business unit.

California-based job.

Healthcare industry experience preferred.

7+ years of related work experience strongly preferred.

No relocation is offered.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Significant Work Activities and Conditions

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods ( more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
