Job Description:
ICF seeks a Senior Associate to support research and evaluation projects related to chronic disease prevention, with a focus on obesity, tobacco use, and heart disease prevention

This position will support various projects focused on monitoring and evaluation of projects with community health content focus. The position may provide support to client program management staff and to grantee communities, health departments, or universities


Primary responsibilities for this position include contributing to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and services for our clients, conducting in-depth data analyses, interpretation and report writing.

Candidates must have the ability to conc

eptualize research problems, design and implement appropriate research methods, apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with internal colleagues, clients and their constituent

Candidates must have a strong track record as a researcher with a solid grounding in public health, social science, or behavioral science evaluation design and methodology.


Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this position will involve p

erforming assignments related to various ongoing research and evaluation projects, under the direction of senior management and providing guidance to more junior team members. Assignments typically include the following:

Participating in developing and implementing evaluation plans for an array of public health programs.

Translating research findings, and report writing.

Providing evaluation technical assistance.

Other responsibilities may include manuscript development, proposal development, client engagement, and some management of evaluation and research projects.

Basic :
Master's degree in public health, public policy, behavioral or social sciences, or related field required.

At least 5 years of experience in the field of research and/or evaluation is required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access) is essential in this fast-paced client oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:
Doctoral degree is a plus.

Experience working across a wide variety of Federal government stakeholders preferred.

Experience with government programs, particularly in a consulting environment, is highly desired.

Understanding of evidence-based practices related to chronic disease prevention—in particular, nutrition or physical activity promotion, or tobacco or heart disease prevention—is a plus.

Experience providing evaluation technical assistance is a plus.

Professional Skills:
Strong oral communication skills, and well developed writing skills are required.

Previous research experience on the topics of chronic disease prevention, community health, nutrition, physical activity, and/or health disparities elimination highly desired.

Candidates must have excellent communications skills, attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to multitask under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Must also be able to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders with a range of evaluation expertise, from community members to academic researchers.

The ability to manage discrete tasks with limited supervision is required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team member are required.

Expertise in independently developing written products such as study reports, briefs, and presentations is required.
