Position Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position serves as an experienced Business Analyst for assigned client projects. This position interacts directly with SunGard clients to assist them in the articulation of their business needs so that SunGard can respond appropriately to the work order in hand. The position requires that the Senior Business Analyst take the initiative in all situations by being an independent, responsible representative of SunGard. This position provides support for various projects so the Senior Business Analyst will need broad, but in-depth experience in the Software Design Lifecycle. The Senior Business Analyst must work to understand the client’s business, processes, and goals to offer accurate, valuable analyses and recommendations. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, assisting and/or conduct testing, preparation of system test strategies and development of test plans. The Senior Business Analyst must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role of a Senior Business Analyst serves as training ground for a future role as a Team Lead or Manager in a real-time, real-world environment. The Senior Business Analyst partners with other members of the team, taking ownership in the quality, success, and profitability of the business unit.

The Senior Business Analyst will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision of the Manager and/or the Project Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Implementation:
• Conduct Project Assessment Visits with client and project team to prepare the client for the implementation, establish realistic expectations and confirm the scope for the project.
• Review Project Implementation Plan with the Project Manager to become familiar with contacts, scope, required resources (Omni and Client), timelines, defines custom enhancements for development (if required), training goals, testing goals, and project goals
• Create and manage a project schedule that meets the requirements and availability of both the client and Omni personnel
• Support and lead the analysis and documentation of the client's infrastructure, business processes and define the system to meet their scope
• Work to progress the project within the scope of the project
• Provide support to Omni personnel during the design, development, configuration and testing phase
• Support client on-site during implementation and testing as needed
• Lead the resolution of implementation issues
• Support client on-site during Go-Live
• Ensure a successful client transition from Implementation to Support
Project Management and Oversight:
• Provide status reports to the Project Manager as needed
• Ensure your assigned project tasks are completed on time and within budget
Personal Development:
• Manage assigned duties
• Continued education of new technology related to product suite
Position Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Must be able to lead a small project from start to finish
• Must be able to mentor new consultants as well as serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other project teams, as needed
• Must be a self-directed individual, who is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess effective consultation, assessment, and project leadership skills
• Must have the ability to analyze complex situations and learn new processes and technologies quickly (Strong problem-solving skills)
• Ability to document business and functional requirements, technical design specifications, business processes and recommendations as appropriate
• Must be able to perform gap analysis under the direction of the Manager or Project Manager
• Ability to create and execute test plans
• Ability to create and document requirements traceability matrix
• Must be reliable and responsive to client and/or management requests
• Ability to positively represent SunGard Omni in front of clients
• Familiarity with client-server applications, web-based applications, databases and networking
• Familiarity with software security concepts and inappropriate exposure of personally identifiable information
• Has strong knowledge of commonly-used business and/or technical concepts, practices, and procedures within the financial services industry
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project)
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of education and experience
• Graduate degree is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of business, financial, or IT-related work experience
• 2+ years working with the Omni suite of products in a transaction processing, business analyst, technical analyst, QC analyst, Project Manager, Consultant or related role
• Strong knowledge of Omni product line both from an operator and administrative perspective
• Previous experience using OmniScript is strongly desired
• Basic knowledge of other components of the systems such as Integration
• Previous experience working in the Benefit Administration/Retirement or Financial Services industry
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
• This resource can be based throughout the United States
• Travel is required as necessary for the successful completion of duties
• May need to travel a several days per week - at times may require travel up to 100% of the time
• May require working over nights and/or weekends during critical phases of a project
