Capital Insurance Group has an excellent opportunity in the Commercial Underwriting Department of our Sacramento, CA area. The ideal candidate will evaluates new business applications, renewal requests and endorsements for compliance. Accurately rate new business applications, renewals or endorsements which indicate highly complex, unusual or high value risks. Communicate with agents, branches and home office staff in evaluating business applications, endorsements and renewals. Review all prepared rate proposals, policy declarations, correspondence, and endorsements.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound organizational and analytical skills with attention for detail and financial analysis. Must have solid knowledge of underwriting practices, procudures, rules and regulations. Must be able to provide excellent customer service with the ability to respond to multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
Education & Experience: College degree or equivalent experience and seven years’ experience as a commercial lines underwriter. CPCU certification or completion of technical insurance coursework focusing on underwriting principles is desirable. CA experience preferred, with a demonstration track record of increasing retail agency production and development of agency relationships. BOP’s, Packages, Programs and mono-line accounts with property orientation. A valid driver’s license is also required with the ability to conduct occasional overnight travel, as necessary.
