Under the direction of the Supervisor, Financial Planning & Analysis: Develops and maintain MVP s cost allocation model, including budgetary, financial close, and internal / external reporting deliverables corporate-wide. Manage cost allocation model components, including statistics, allocation grids, driver data, and allocation business rules for all lines of business. Maintain the allocation model tables and queries to be able to allocate costs according to GAAP, Statutory (including NAIC, MMCOR, QI/SHCE/MLR), and SEER guidelines. Coordinate data gathering and analysis of the SEER financial and operational metrics. Analyze and report on allocation data, supporting regulatory reporting, SBU reporting, and other ad hoc analysis requests. Partner with financial planning team and cost center managers to determine appropriate cost drivers and mapping grids during annual budget process. Develop and implement process improvement / automation techniques both functionally and systematically to increase efficiency of cost allocation model. Prepare financial impact analyses related to cost allocation of administrative expense, leveraging partnerships with senior cross-functional management to identify appropriate cost drivers. Partner with accounting in the preparation of regulatory required reporting and filings. Support internal audit and regulatory agency audit requests and analyses. Participate in the preparation of enterprise-wide budget and administrative reporting processes (including annual budget, re-forecasts, etc.). Support monthly financial close process, including General Ledger, cost allocation model, and Hyperion application analysis. Prepare reporting deliverables for close. Build Excel-based and Access-based financial models for forecasting and analysis. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education: Bachelor s Degree in business or related field. MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of financial analyst experience. 3 years cost allocation and/or cost accounting experience. Required Skills: Demonstrated ability in driving cost allocation business processes and maintaining an allocation model. Advanced level Microsoft Access experience, including experience building and utilizing Access forms, tables, and reports.Experience mining and extracting data from applications, as well as obtaining various inputs from multiple stakeholders throughout the business. Proven success compiling, reconciling, and analyzing these inputs within a complex model, built with data integrity and controls. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects, successfully meeting deadlines with quality products in a high volume environment. Ability to provide flexible support to management and customers, adapting quickly to a variety of requests, addressing challenges in a solutions oriented manner. Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated success in organizing and presenting data accurately and effectively. Ability to maintain detailed documentation and demonstrate effective organization. Ability to work independently, as well as work effectively as a member of a team. Strong Microsoft PPT and verbal presentation skills, with experience presenting financial results to senior level management. Preferred Skills: Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including utilization of complex formulas. Experience preparing external reporting / regulatory reporting analysis, schedules and documentation. Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders and finance management to define and validate business assumptions required in modeling and analysis. Proven experience supporting financial close deadlines and deliverables. Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information. Healthcare, Visual Basic and/or SQL, and Hyperion experience. Accounting experience, in addition to FP&A experience.
