Humedica is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual to help build and support new market opportunities within the Corporate Development function of the business. The Senior Data Analyst is a key member of the Humedica Team, responsible for driving customer value through de-identified disease specific data sets and fulfilling on deliverables for a range of healthcare constituents including academic medical centers, education and research companies, public policy centers, payors etc. A successful Senior Data Analyst will understand the client needs and interests for a given project, and effectively deliver on each project in a timely and consistent manner, and also help drive new go-to-market efforts leveraging the data for other healthcare constituents as potential buyers.

Data exploration and analytic analysis conducted by the Senior Data Analyst will inform the building of algorithms, statistical models, and statistical graphical approaches. Our ideal candidate will combine a strong education in mathematics/applied computer science with practical experience in analytical programming and knowledge of health care data and markets.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform data analysis on a large, complex, multi-table database to clarify the structure of a particular data set, determine the longitudinality of its various components, and create approaches for using the data in statistical analyses.
  • Engage in client or partner facing discussions to discuss client objectives and project specifications, provide updates related to progress for contracted work, and present analytic results.
  • For specific project work, on behalf of a customer, generate disease specific flat files for customers to perform analysis OR generate data “reports” with aggregate findings from the research to be easily consumed and manipulated for customer analysis
  • Conduct disease specific analyses that provide insight into care provided that can be used to support sales and marketing materials or outreach to different markets, potential buyers of the data analytics
  • Perform exploratory analysis on new types of data that will clarify the structure of the data and how it can be used to provide disease specific insights into the care that has been provided.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelors degree in mathematics or applied computer science or equivalent education that includes a strong emphasis on data analysis and algorithm development
  • Experience in health care data analysis
  • Experience analyzing large complex multi-table data sets
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience working with SQL
  • Extensive experience using SQL for data manipulation and algorithm development
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to help project manage internally as well as communicate proficiently about the data externally with clients or prospects
Additional Desirable Experience and Skills
  • Exposure to statistical packages (such as R or SAS) is a plus
