Works with all departments to identify organizational database and statistical reporting requirements. Design, build, verify, and document software for new and existing software products using industry standard software development tools and methodology.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent required.
Excellent working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: MUMPS/RPMS, C, C++, Visual Language, or Java. Working knowledge of SQL required.
Ability to use statistical analysis tools against multiple databases (Crystal reports, SQL, Queries, Excel).
Able to format reports for effective presentation.
Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
Oral communications and interpersonal skills needed.
Knowledge of current technological trends in area of expertise.
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Solutions Developer (MCSD), or equivalent level industry certification (Oracle, SAS) preferred.
Relevant clinical or Indian Health Service experience preferred.
Analyzes business requirements to define data storage and retrieval needs.
Identifies off-the-shelf software packages that fulfill database requirements. Modifies commercial database packages to fit specific business requirements and builds custom database application as required.
Maintains effective documentation of software customization and responsible for creating technical manuals and user guides fro custom software modules.
Builds complex reports, often from multiple database systems, to met data reporting requirements of federal, state, and local agencies as well as providing administration with metrics for effective management.
Provides technical and end user support for RPMS and other clinical information systems.
Maintains, upgrades, and patches multiple database applications including financials, data repositories, and CIS.
Coordinates contracted support efforts for database applications.
Provides on-call support and problem resolution for CIS and custom applications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
