Job Description:
The Howard Hughes Corporation owns, manages and develops
commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate
throughout the country. Our company is comprised of
Master Planned Communities, Operating Properties,
Strategic Developments and other unique assets spanning
18 state from New York to Hawaii. We are traded on the
New York Stock Exchange as HHC.
We are currently seeking a Sr. Desktop/Network Engineer
to provide IT support to The Woodlands property.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain ten (10) separate facilities connected via
an MPLS network with IT needs that require IT
support; must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, 365 days a year due to retail sales, service
and housing department needs. Provide support for
all facilities and equipment to maintain 99.99%
server up time during operating hours from 7:00 am -
8:00 pm, 7 days a week.
  • Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance
of infrastructure and support equipment that
consists of a completely redundant server system
with a fully functional test environment for all
production applications.
  • The current server infrastructure consists of more
than 70 servers (mixed physical and virtual), 250
PCs, managed Cisco network with multi SSID wireless
access including a guest portal. Support equipment
consists of an environment-controlled server room,
full system UPS and natural gas generator providing
power for not only server room and phone system but
also key management computer and printing needs.
  • Adhere to corporate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
requirements as they relate to data access and
protection, as well as the documentation associated
with user account creation and rights assignments.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts on the
environment.
  • Using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager,
image, deploy and maintain 250+ PCs throughout the
environment. Manage hardware life cycle from start
to finish, including quoting and purchasing new
hardware and disposal of retired hardware through
electronic recyclers.
  • Using Microsoft System Center Data Protection
Manager, maintain both tape and disk based backups
of all critical data and servers.
  • Using Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine
Manage, operate and maintain two separate highly
available virtual environment using ten host
servers.
  • Manage and maintain highly available SAN clusters
ensuring the availability of the virtual environment
as well as the network data.
  • Manage and maintain the Unified Communications
Environment consisting of Microsoft Office
Communication Server/Lync Communications Server and
Exchange 2007.
