Provide financial analysis and decision making support to a team of finance and merchant professionals within the merchandising business unit at Sears Holdings Corporation across Sears and Kmart formats.

Qualifications:Tactical Focus on Merchandise:
Pricing/Promotion effectiveness audits.
Holistic profitability assessment-Merchandise, Service and Market Basket.
Subsidy, allowance and rebate projections, realization, and maximization.
Inventory analyses, including understanding and correcting sources of shrink, timely analyses that quickly identifies potentially slow moving or obsolete items.
Responsible to both the Sears and Kmart Formats.

Tactical Focus on Services:
Labor deployment/efficiency analyses.
Standard costing of service operations.
Lean technique & productivity analyses
Service offering profitability.
Pricing/Promotion effectiveness audits.
Optimize the deployment of capital used to upgrade and improve capabilities.
Analyze safety record and insurance costs.

Drive Increased Merchandise Profit:
Improve Pricing/Subsidy/Promotion effectiveness through timely analyses, what-if projections, and ensuring S&OP compliance.
Reduce working capital investments & supply chain costs with a prospective understanding of the direction of unit costs, and where there are opportunities to reduce storage/transportation costs, shrink and NPI inventory.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting, MBA preferred
  • 2-5 years relevant work experience
  • Financial Analyst experience in a mid to large-size retailer, packaged goods, or manufacturer preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial calculations
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills required based upon financial and statistical results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to discuss results of analyses and projects in concise and professional manner
  • Ability to utilize planning and analysis applications and personal computer software (Excel a must)
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate detailed quantitative data effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and analyses simultaneously while being able to meet deadlines
