RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Manager, Accounting:
Prepare quarterly/annual financial statements in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles. Prepare regulatory filings on a quarterly/annual basis, including notes to financial statements and complete additional exhibits/supplements as required by the governing regulatory agency. Collaborate with Financial Management to develop financial system initiatives and proactive responses to current and future regulatory reporting needs. Assist with the preparation of MMCOR filings. Prepare monthly manual journal entries based on Medicare plan payment reports for AR44 company and reconcile Medicare revenue recorded to Medicare plan payment reports. Prepare monthly journal entries based on Medicaid/Medicaid activity for AR44 company. Assist Manager of Commercial Accounting/Manager of Government Programs and Statutory Reporting/Director of Accounting with ad-hoc projects. Provide Internal Audit with documentation to comply with Model Audit Rule ( MAR ). Be a business lead in implementation of future enhancements of Sunguard EFS based on regulatory requirements, which includes quarterly & annual upgrades. Audit responsibilities: Coordinate departmental responses for CMS Medicare audits, A-133 audit for CHP. Research regulatory changes to and prepare finance request list for the CMS annual bid process. Keep up to date on regulatory changes related to statutory filings, CMS reporting and bids, and Medicaid and MMCOR reporting. Provide summaries of regulatory changes to the Manager, Director, and Controller. Backup for the Manager on any Medicare & Medicaid expansion teams. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: Master s Degree in Accounting. CPA Required.

Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years GAAP accounting experience. At least one year health insurance accounting experience in multi-state filing environment (including New York) with multiple legal entities and full range of health insurance products.
