Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Responsible for both client side support of OpenText eDOCS document management system utilized by multiple Fox departments as well as support for key legal systems (e.g., IP and Matter Management). Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical and non-technical issues, business analysis, end user system documentation and end user training. Responsible for managing new document management implementation projects as well as functionality expansion or new third party integrations for existing implementations.
1. Project Initiation
Develops understanding of customer operations and applies it in researching potential solutions.
Owns clarification, rationalization and documentation of project requests.
Prepares and/or reviews the Business Case, Project Charter, Project Cost Justification, ROI and/or benefits evaluation, RFI, RFP, Package Selection Recommendation and other project initiation documents.
Facilitates large-group business development planning sessions.
Ensures appropriate business participation in IT projects.
2. Application Development
Analyzes and documents relevant business processes.
Leads interviews with customers to define requirements.
Defines, documents and reviews functional requirements.
Leads the detailed design and configuration phase.
Conducts gap analysis.
Responsible for ensuring that project meets functionality requirements and expected business benefits.
Responsible for all facets of the User Acceptance Testing process on medium to large size projects.
Prepares and/or reviews end user documentation, training materials, curriculum and schedule.
Conducts training classes, including train-the trainer, one-on-one or classroom style training.
Provides first line post implementation support to users regarding functional issues.
Engages all relevant participants in change management activities, where appropriate.
3. Production Support
Serves as functional expert for DM and other key legal systems such as IP and Matter Management.
Takes ownership of functional issues by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions and implementing system resolutions, including workarounds.
Applies and enforces department change control policies and procedures.
Takes the lead in coordinating with other IT departments on integrated system support.
Tracks and promptly responds to clients questions and requests and monitors e-mail service accounts.
Coordinates with DM administrator to address server and database issues.
Troubleshoots integrated services between document management and other internal systems (such as PeopleSoft) and processes.
Maintains document library code tables.
Provides end user training as needed.
Conducts regular user status meetings.
Works with users to prioritize requests.
Manages account administration for document management systems (including end user license management)
Ensures appropriate security levels are being applied based on user roles.
Becomes familiar with and adheres to IT security policies and procedures.
Becomes familiar with application security for relevant systems.
Monitors and enforces system adherence to Fox Data Loss Prevention policies.
Works with appropriate users and vendors to manage access and maintain controls.
Communicates plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis.
Adheres to and enforces department standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices.
