As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. The Home Depot Supply Chain is improving efficiencies of Inventory Supply Chain - Inventory Planning and Replenishment, which will require significant systems improvements over multiple years. These initiatives will require energetic individuals to lead and develop these system improvements to realize the desired business value.
The Sr. Developer has proficient knowledge of multiple programming languages along with the ability to take business requirements and develop the total technical design for an entire application to be run in production. The Sr. Developer has the ability to lay out requirements for the project team. Ability to guide and direct work on multiple projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Thorough understanding of life cycle development through production implementation and post implementation. The Sr. Developer has the ability to present at the various architecture review boards. Display strategic view of applications and how they fit into the whole retail space.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.
Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.
Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

The Lead Developer should be able to interact with the business user to understand and interpret their needs. They must have the ability to present the design at the various technical review boards. They must also understand and support the strategic view of applications and how they fit into the overall retail space. The Lead Developer is accountable for work assignments, progress monitoring and team morale building. They should be able to proactively drive the deliverables; to think, work and contribute beyond defined responsibilities; and to grow and assume additional responsibilities. They should be well-organized with the capacity to multitask and able to work in a fast paced environment independently and as part of a team.
Key functional and technical skills:
The Lead Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design, and ensure highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Has displayed /developed a strategic view of applications and how they fit into the Supply Chain space. The Lead Developer must have and be able to promote an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to deliverables and projects, and be able to effectively partner with / lead the business to develop and deliver IT solutions.
Key hands on functional and technical skills:
Experience with forecast and replenishment type processes and/or applications. Familarity with Teradata's DCM application a plus
Experience with Inventory Management type applications or development
Java development with focus on web development (JSP, Servlet, JMS, JDBC, J2EE Security, Struts)
Understanding of standard web frameworks and languages (HTML, CSS, Javacript, AJAX)
Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (SOAP and RESTful)
Experience with standard SQL against Teradata, Oracle, DB2/UDB, Informix, mySQL or SQLServer
Experience with Rich Internet Application Development (HTML5, FLEX, Silverlight)
General proficiency in XML
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to communicate issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner to Management.
