About the position:
The Hershey Company has an opening for an experienced Information Systems (IS) Global Infrastructure Specialist - Architect. The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for architecting, designing and managing the implementation of infrastructure solutions across the Unix/Linux and Windows server environments including other related technologies (e.g. SAN storage, database operations, enterprise backup, virtualization and disaster recovery). The Infrastructure Specialist collaborates all levels of IS staff and management to set and communicate strategic direction as it relates to IS infrastructure.
Research, architect, design, test and deploy Unix and Windows server-related infrastructure solutions, which are cost-effective, flexible, highly available and agile.
Manage complex projects and cross-functional teams to achieve results on time and within budget.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, implementation and testing.
Provide senior level technical expertise on decisions and priorities regarding Hershey’s enterprise global architecture.
Provide high-level coordination and support for internally escalated global infrastructure related problems.
Assist in building and maintaining a consolidated iterative 3-year rolling IT enterprise architecture roadmap.
BS Degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field required
will be given to candidates possessing a Masters Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
ITIL Training and Certification strongly preferred
8-10 years experience in global computer operations, server administration and infrastructure services with experience architecting solutions in a large corporate environment.
Background in software development and system administration with an in depth knowledge of multiple platforms
Superior project management skills including project estimation, resource planning, system and process documentation, vendor selection and contract negotiation.
Excellent verbal and written communications with ability to express / translate business needs into technology assisted solutions.
Knowledge and architectural experience with:
Windows Server / Active Directory / MS Cluster
Virtualization environments including vmWare, Hyper-V, Solaris zones and KVM
SQL Server and Oracle
Citrix XenApp desktop virtualization and application virtualization
SAN storage platforms including NetApp and EMC
Enterprise backup solutions such as Netbackup and Data Protection Manager
Red Hat Linux, Suse Linux and Solaris
Clustering technologies including Veritas Storage Foundation HA
Disaster Recovery implementations
Leveraging Cloud-based solutions
High-level networking understanding
