We are currently on the market for Sr. Microsoft Engineer--Project Lead. Preferred candidates will:
Participate as a senior design engineer on projects for implementing new technologies or enhancing existing systems.
Take a leadership role in planning and implementing various IT projects related to enhancing the security of the enterprise and incorporation of state-of-the-art technologies into the enterprise.
Leading efforts to develop technical standards, and contributes to the development of policies, procedures, strategies and methodologies to manage the system lifecycles in terms of hardware refreshes and software upgrades.
Assist in identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems related to servers and LAN environment. Define the processes and procedures necessary to operate and monitor the technical environments.
Implement and support enterprise applications and key services in the environment.
Collaborate with team, vendors, and consultants to determine strategy and plan for system implementations and upgrades.
Implement routine server changes (OS patches, drivers’ updates, etc.) according to departmental procedures. T
his position requires providing support during weekends and after business-hours, on a rotational basis.
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or an Information Technology-related field of discipline is required.
8+ years experience administering a Windows Server environment.
The ideal candidate will possess 8+ years of experience managing Windows 2003-2008 Server based environments, with strong current knowledge and background in managing servers in a complex heterogeneous environment.
Strong knowledge of Windows 2008 Server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
Ability to teach appropriate troubleshooting techniques to junior members of the team.
Strong knowledge of technical infrastructure, networking and system operations.
Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
Experience with server and endpoint security tools and practices is a plus.
Basic Windows Load Balancing and Clustering knowledge a plus.
Basic VBScript, Power Shell, and WMI scripting knowledge a plus.
Familiarity with SAN and virtual infrastructures a strong plus.
Strong communication skills with business partners. Must be able to present one's self well and comfortably in front of an audience, as well as in writing.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
Proactive attitude looking for ways to improve existing production systems and ability to spot potentially critical problems before they impact the user environment.
Ability to share knowledge, lead, and mentor less experienced team member.
Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.
