Senior NAS/SAN Storage Engineer

Position Overview: This job is located in Tempe, AZ

Planning, design, installation and support of NAS/SAN infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to fill a position as a Network-Attached Storage (NAS) / (SAN) Engineer. The candidate will manage storage environments top to bottom. The tasks will include installs, configurations, upgrades, and troubleshooting any issues relative to infrastructure storage. The candidate will also actively manage relationships with the business and serve as liaison with internal technical support and vendors. The candidate is also expected to be willing to work in a fast paced team driven environment and should be a self starter. This team is part of a 24x365 operations staff with after hour work and rotating on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

-Work dialy with EMC Celerra Products, DART operating system and associated features desirable (IP Replication, CIFS, CAVA, CDMS, DFS, Quotas, Checkpoints)

-Provision SAN storage to servers and NFS/CIFS shares to servers

-Work within DFS

-Work within RecoverPoint SE for block level replication

-Work within Celerra Replicator for file level replication

-Work within Symantec Veritas volume Manager

-Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols such as TCP/IP

-Requires 24x7 production support and on call rotation

-Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on SAN Technologies

-Provide technical support and leadership for the design and support of infrastructure technologies

-Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data

-Ability to design, implementation and adjust storage configurations for optimal performance

-Solid knowledge Storage security best practices

-Work with Cisco Enterprise level SAN switches 9509, 9513

-Experience with Centera

-Evaluate new technologies to enable strategic business initiatives

-Use SAN and NAS management tools to analyze performance and identify bottlenecks or slowdowns and take appropriate action to resolve

-Plan, coordinate and upgrade components of the SAN/NAS as needed with software, hardware and microcode upgrades. Work with vendors as needed

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in MIS / CIS or equivalent job experience

-Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience working in IT

-Minimum of 3 – 5 years of managing EMC storage

-Minimum of 3 – 5 years of managing Windows 2003/2008

-Experience in forecasting and capacity planning of storage

-Experience managing storage in a Fiber environment

-Experience in storage security

-Experience with storage in a VMWare environment

-Experience with RecoverPoint Replication

-Experience with EMC Powerpath multi-pathing software

-Experience within Symantec Veritas volume Manager

-Enterprise DR experience

-Must be proficient in EMC Unisphere

-Must be proficient in Cisco Fabric Manager and Device Manager

-Must be proficient in Centera Viewer

-Must have experience with Enterprise Storage solutions

-Must be proficient in Fibre Channel, SAN, NAS

-Must have experience with VMWare

-Must have solid skills in Microsoft OS.

-Knowledgeable in High Availability technologies like clustering, virtualization, etc

-Working knowledge of networking infrastructure, RAID, SNMP, and Management GUI’s and CLI’s

-Must be able to follow standard methodologies for troubleshooting and development

-Must have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

-Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, organizational, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
