Sr. Network Engineer / Solutions Consultant

(Position location: Atlanta, GA / FL or Shelton, CT))

Business Development Consultants are responsible for driving service sales opportunities that require business and IT consulting as a precursor to functional offerings. This team will work with account executives to share our service capabilities with customers in the context of cohesive solutions representing the various disciplines in solutions and services within PC Mall Inc. This team will be composed of individuals who have a clear working knowledge of our service capabilities as well as our delivery methodologies, and will be able to coordinate and create proposals (SOWs) and presentations to our client base representing our capabilities in the context of the resolution of the client problem or opportunity. Ideally there will be at least one member of this team in each of Montreal, Chicago and Torrance/Irvine. This team will also work with subject matter experts (SMEs) in the various service groups that we have, to further define a customer’s needs, and refine/present our offerings to that customer accordingly

Opportunity Management
  • The SBDC is a Subject Matter Expert for Solution Offerings and capabilities (PSO, LSO, MSO and Abreon) and (to a lesser extent) our IT strategies and OEM partnerships
  • Work with Account Executives to Qualify and Quantify service/consulting opportunities
  • Use the SRC Tool to document and track service opportunities, gather requirements, qualification data, initial findings and meeting notes
  • Work with SMEs, Service Management Team, Solution Consultants, Account Executives and customers to drive and document Service Opportunities
  • Remain the primary point of contact on consulting opportunities for Account Executives and work in conjunction with sales management to strategically position and drive opportunities (Project Management)
  • Provide regular project status to Account Executives
  • Escalate issues as-needed when we fail to meet client requirements due to internal support, capability, or problems with strategy
Pro-Active Business Development
  • Work with account executives and sales management on annual account plans for strategic acquisition targets and existing accounts that have been designated for high growth opportunity. (meet with account execs regularly to probe their account bases for service opportunities, make joint calls with account execs, etc.)
  • Review PreSales/Solution requests and quotes for missed service opportunities and provide follow-up recommendations
  • Train AEs on service sales strategies and tactics
Responsible Opportunity Handling
  • Ensure customer satisfaction in strategic engagements
  • Quality escalation to function area executives
  • Engagement and ownership of opportunity until completion
