What You’ll Do
Lead launch segment concept development to include requirements definition, flow-down, development, verification and interfaces to other segments
Develop, document, and implement technical data/requirements and all deliverables required for launch segment operations.
Lead launch segment concept development for new business proposal activities
Lead development and refinement of BATC launch segment processes
Interface externally with Customer Program Management and the space segment provider.
Interface internally with BATC Program Management, Space Products and Engineering/ATLO Groups.
Lead and Manage BATC contract scope and associated budget of the launch segment.
Lead the development and manage execution of the launch segment schedule and associated receivable and deliverable items.
Provide single Point of Contact at BATC for launch segment definition, acquisition and implementation.
Coordinate i nterface with Ball Systems Safety and launch site Range Safety
Coordinate launch site materials, consumables and training (propellant, purge gas, SCAPE)
Lead Launch Site Operations Management during launch campaign.
Extensive t echnical writing (Proposal development, Contractual elements, procedural definitions, specifications, interfaces, analysis support and description documents)
What You Will Need
BS in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred plus 16 or more years of related experience.
Minimum of 8 years direct experience in Launch Services/Engineering with a solid understanding of all aspects of planning, scheduling, specifications, interface control, launch integration activities, shipping, on-site support, and subcontract management.
Proven expertise in subcontract management for launch services.
Extensive e xperience with defining, developing and delivering space qualified hardware. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
Effective in multidisciplinary large team work environment with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight.
In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to strongly perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered
Each higher level degree, Masters, etc. may substitute for two years of experience
Two years of experience may be substituted for each year of education.
Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
This position requires a current favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Some positions will require completion of a polygraph examination. * U.S. Citizenship Required.
