CNO Financial Group is seeking a dynamic Sr. Project Manager, skilled in leading highly visible projects by collaborating across multiple business groups.
The Senior Project Manager role will be responsible for managing the implementation of large scale, complex projects, identifying an assembling the resources required in support of the projects. Defines and manages the scope of enterprise wide or line of business specific projects with minimum supervision. Conducts project review meetings, documents project status, and supports the resolution of open issues. Escalates critical issues to management including a resolution approach and the potential impact to the project. May guide the work of more junior staff.
Responsibilities and Activities:
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will work independently, manage large scale projects or oversee multiple related large scale projects.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will identify budget and human resources needed, assemble project team, and assign individual responsibilities.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will establish a Cost/Benefit Analysis (CBA) with the business sponsor and IT managers (as applicable).
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will work with business and technical leaders to determine scope and document scope and deliverables based on documentation and requirements supplied.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will create and administer the project plan following EPMO guidelines and project management best practices.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will communicate with the project team, customers and project stakeholders to manage expectations and stay in alignment with project objectives.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will manage assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will identify and mitigate risks and issues.
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will facilitate meetings and produce RIDA (risk, issues, decisions, actions) based meeting notes
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will create project status reports following EPMO guidelines
The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER will work closely with IT resource manager and IT release management to balance project delivery with other IT delivery and practices.
7-10 years project management experience
6+years of working experience in IT and, preferably, Insurance and/or Finance
3+ years of experience managing offshore teams, cross functional teams and third party vendors
• Analysis & problem solving capability
• Customer focused, Quality Focused, Detail oriented, Process oriented
• Ability to communicate & work effectively with culturally & geographically diverse teams
• Experience with cross-functional teams preferred
• Experience with Insurance, Data Management and/or Finance Systems preferred
• Experience with the following tools preferred: Oracle EBS; Infogix; Informatica
• Ability to deliver to schedule
