R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company is seeking a toxicologist to support the development of new products consistent with RJRT's Growth, Innovation and Harm Reduction Platforms. The incumbent will be required to steward vapor products, critically assess a broad range of toxicological information and make recommendations, design chemical and toxicological evaluation programs, develop technical documents on a variety of scientific and risk assessment topics, and assist with the preparation of materials supporting regulatory submissions. The individual will be required to interact routinely with various internal and external groups (e.g., In Vitro/Vivo Toxicology, Product Development, Engineering, Procurement, Management, Regulatory, Contract Research Organizations/CROs) and manage multiple projects to ensure R&D timelines are met.
1. Conduct toxicological evaluations of new materials proposed for use in vapor products.
2. Design, manage, and interpret chemical and toxicological studies to support product development and regulatory submissions.
3. Develop technical documents on various scientific, risk assessment, and regulatory topics, including toxicological data summaries.
PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related discipline with minimum 2 years of industry experience or MS in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related discipline with minimum 5 years of industry experience conducting human safety assessments of consumer products (e.g., cosmetics, household products), medical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemicals or minimum 3 years post-doctoral work experience in chemical exposure or risk assessment.
Excellent project management and team work skills.
