The Senior Software Engineer Web Services will be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle including mapping new features to meet requirements, and use many new technologies throughout the development process. This position will be responsible for meeting deliverables while maintaining attention to details, preserving quality standards and adhering to best practices.
This position reports to the Manager of Software Development - Integrated Back Office Architecture. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with other team members and business owners to develop business requirements into technical designs, to include documentation.
Ensure the application platform is updated to meet business needs.
Code using a proprietary scripting language in a development environment.
Creation and execution of test plans.
Responsible for oversight of the application through the SDLC.
Responsible for application performance and management.
Create project schedules, milestone goals, and task lists.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Minimum 7 years of Java application development work experience
Knowledge of release management version and revision control practices and procedures
Proficient knowledge of development life cycles
Solid experience in Java design, coding, testing and debugging techniques
Solid experience in enterprise level J2EE platforms using J2EE design patterns
Experience building web services to legacy APIs and Databases
Experience with a relational databases and SQL
7+ years hands on Java/J2EE development experience.
5+ years working with Java frameworks and APIs such as Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, EJB, JNDI, JMS.
5+ years hands on experience with XML, XSLT, XQuery, XSD
4+ years building web services (REST, SOAP, JSON).
Exposure to all development tiers: databases, front-end & middle-tier development
Experience working with java application servers including Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere or WebLogic
Experience with working with version control systems such as CVS, SVN, or GIT
Experience with build tools and scripting languages such as Maven, ANT
Experience with Authentication and Authorization Concepts.
Experience in supporting and debugging applications in a production environment
Strong object-oriented design skills
Knowledge of common software design patterns and best practices
Technical design and requirements experience and contributions to system architectures
Strong interpersonal, presentation, as well as verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interface with clients and functional analysts to understand systems design and requirements
