THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION @50%, GRANT FUNDED WITH BENEFITS.
Coordinate the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) by interfacing with the students, faculty, tutors, grant administrator, external contributors and Principle Investigator to accomplish the key position accountabilities.
Makes moderately complex administrative decisions requiring a working knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures associated with the SMDEP, SMDEP National Office and UTHealth; Keeps all grant-related documents, correspondences, files, reports and records current and stored in a secure and confidential format/location; Interfaces with SMDEP applicants, students, faculty, tutors, administrators, staff and external contacts though out the grant cycle; Coordinates all aspects of the SMDEP program (schedules, IDs, email addresses, health records, Blackboard, stipends, meal cards, housing, speakers, room reservations, graduation, travel, etc.); Monitors and assists with tracking SMDEP budget, purchases, and expenditures; Assists the Principle Investigator with pre- and post-award administration and coordinating, and annual grant renewals.
High School Diploma/Equivalent with a minimum of five years experience in a responsible secretarial and/or clerical position. Typing 60 WPM preferred.
Knowledge of Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP), SMDEP National Office and UTHealth policies and procedures preferred; Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Excellent organizational skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable.
