Sr. Web Analytics Engineer (Omniture)

Job Description:

The Senior Web Analytics Engineer is responsible for implementing Omniture throughout a variety of Web properties. This position works closely with both business partners and other delivery teams to ensure that Omniture is properly implemented and deployed throughout these web properties. We are looking for an individual that has significant in-depth programming experience with web analytics applications, preferably using Omniture. The role demands a multi-faceted individual with deep technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people while working on many efforts simultaneously. This role will require to first understand and analyze the existing analytics implementation so that additional enhancements and bug fixes can be deployed. In addition to the day-to-day activities, they will be called upon to troubleshoot site tracking issues in production.

A possible alternative would be someone with deep experience in web technologies looking to develop web analytics as a specialty.

Job Qualifications:
  • Ability to write highly optimized custom JavaScript, including a solid understanding of the nuances of Object Oriented JavaScript and writing frameworks and interfaces.
  • Ability to write custom JavaScript for custom tagging implementation.
  • Solid understanding of web browsers including the DOM model, the execution stack, and various browser limitations.
  • Strong debugging skills within a browser environment.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people with regards to data integration from web based analytics platforms.
  • Ability to audit Site for Analytics Tagging and Verify Function and Tags
    Ability to configure Site Catalyst custom reports.
  • Excellent coding and documentation practices.
  • A self starter who can take lead on issue resolution and project execution.
  • Conduct problem isolation/determination.
  • Provide production support and routine website analytics maintenance.
  • Perform on call duties on rotation with other developers when required.
  • Manage projects and perform other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Bachelor's degree and two years related work experience or six years related work experience post high school.
  • Two years systems development experience.
  • Two years coding experience.
  • Two years software application experience.3-5 years of experience in web / browser based technologies.
  • In depth knowledge of JavaScript, web browsers, web page architecture, cookies, DOM and JSON.
  • Experience with tagging based analytics applications, specifically with Omniture Site Catalyst.
  • Familiarity with Tealeaf, Keynote and other online tools a plus.
  • At least three years of experience developing JavaScript and Web 2.0 applications and sites, including demonstrable examples of public Web sites or applications illustrating significant work product.
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON and AJAX.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Computer Science or in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or other math-based science.
  • At least 1 year of Agile software development experience preferred.
  • Experience with a high volume eCommerce solution is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of web development on mobile platforms preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge of JavaScript, web browsers, web page architecture, cookies, DOM and JSON.
  • Experience with tagging based analytics applications, specifically with Omniture Site Catalyst.
  • Proficient knowledge of established software development methodologies, including experience working with iterative methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, XP).
  • Ability to understand and apply basic software implementation methodology concepts .
