Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to account reconciliations, analysis and forecasts, the month-end close process and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements as they relate to Fixed Assets.
Identifies ways to improve productivity and data quality through the use of technology or other means
Able to develop reports and analyses for management and other internal users in ways that support decision-making by conveying complex facts simply
Establishes, owns and works toward achieving individualized developmental goals and objectives
Contribute to month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and Company Accounting Policies
Accurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity, resolve reconciling differences appropriately, prepare forecast estimates, and understand both the Balance Sheet and P&L impact of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items.
Prepare account and process documentation
Set up, review, and close projects in Oracle Projects.
Properly code assets for posting to Oracle Assets.
Retire, transfer, adjust assets in Oracle Assets as needed.
Review all invoices associated with Fixed Assets and ensure that they comply with Nordstrom capitalization policies.
Communication Skills: Be able to articulate accounting’s role to other departments; summarize financial data and explain processes and analysis in an appropriate level of detail for management, external auditors and internal customers.
Analytical Skills: Interpret financial data, analyze variances, and understand underlying transactions; identify issues, gather relevant information, summarize options and recommend solutions; operate in a detail-oriented manner; develop and use Oracle, Discoverer, Cognos and Essbase skills to find efficient ways to obtain and provide information to management and others.

BS/BA in Accounting
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and 10-Key calculator
Effective written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
