TMX Finance is currently seeking a Staff Accountant III to join the Corporate Accounting Department in Savannah, GA with experience in General Ledger, Profit & Loss Analysis and Balance Sheets, month-end closing, account reconciliations and cost analysis. Experience with Project assignments is highly desired. In addition, the Staff Accountant III will assist the Assistant Corporate Controller and Corporate Accounting Supervisor in a cross-departmental capacity. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities: Understand and generate general ledger as well as month and quarter end entriesDocument GL accounting flows based on individual state regulationsInteract and partner with various operations dependent departments such as IT and key stakeholdersResponsible for accounting functions related to acquisitions and new business processesPrepare month end journal entries as it relates to project accountingMaintain project plans, issue lists, testing and documentation for formal meetings to report to and update upper managementAssist the business area in developing user procedures, process documentation to training department to ensure smooth integrations of new systems functionality into daily processesRespond to and resolve all internal and external inquiries in a timely mannerResponsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expensesResponsible for consolidating and eliminating entries for VIE and internal entitiesQualifications: 5+ years of high volume, full cycle corporate accounting experience is requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting is required3+ years experience with a top ten accounting firm is a plusMulti-unit retail experience is required - 250 locations or greaterCPA is a plusMust have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projectsCapability of demonstrating strong understanding of process flows and internal controlsExcellent technical, oral, and written communication skillsDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
