The Staff Assistant/Recruiting Coordinator provides critical support to 6 administrative professional staff members and manages the day-to-day operations of the office. This is including but not limited to:
Managing all logistics of career development programs and events
Hiring, training, and supervising all student assistants both during the academic year (8-10 students) and over the summer (1 student)
Collaborating with the Director to maintain office budget; processing/paying invoices, running reports, and identifying cost savings opportunities whenever possible
Creating and maintaining online calendar of events
Ordering office subscriptions, resources and supplies
Ensuring maintenance and accuracy of the Career Advisor network database
Representing the office by reading and responding to various email solicitations and inquires sent to the department's general email account
Providing efficient office operations, answering phone, greeting customers/guests, and scheduling appointments
Other office duties as assigned.
The Staff Assistant/Recruiting Coordinator will also support recruiting events both on and off-campus, including but not limited to:
Maintaining and developing relationships with employers who provide job and internship opportunities for students and alumni; coordinating logistics for on-campus visits
Utilizing Symplicity system to post jobs/internships and create on-campus recruiting schedules
Leading the coordination and event management of the off-campus Eastern College Career Day (ECCD) recruiting event in Boston in Fall 2013 (includes travel to event) and supporting logistics and travel to future ECCD events in NYC and Boston in subsequent years
Education and/or Training: Associates degree or equivalent work experience in a related field, preferably administration or business. Experience organizing complex information systems; proven strength in organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detail oriented, be able to manage several projects simultaneously and work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and experience with Symplicity preferred.

The Staff Assistant/Recruiting Coordinator sits at the front desk and represents the face of the Career Development Center.
