The Recruitment and Outreach Specialist for the Metropolitan Center in New York City will recruit new students in line with center budgeted enrollment targets and goals, manage the communication plan and information sessions to move new students from inquiry to application completion and coordinate with the Office of Student Services. The selected incumbent will enter or supervise entry of information into the Customer Relations Management database, request and design reports, analyze data and write summary conclusions tracking the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
The Recruitment and Outreach Specialist will lead the efforts of community college transfer events and relationships with transfer offices and promote the Pathway’s Articulation Agreement Program. The specialist will also assist in contacting external organizations that have prospective students, following up on organizational leads and promising contacts, maintaining the database of contacts and results, and continuing existing organizational relationships. The selected incumbent is responsible for coordinating and conducting information sessions at ESC’s Manhattan location, in the community, college and organizational settings, as needed. The specialist will ensure the effective center handling of inquiries from prospective students, provide personal follow up on individual inquiries and make personal referrals to faculty and other staff.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in higher education
• Prior marketing, business or recruitment/admissions experience
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, problem-solve, collaborate and work independently
• Excellent data analysis and computer skills
• Master’s degree
• Experience with outreach and recruitment in higher education
• Experience with innovative academic programs for adult learners/nontraditional students
Special Information (i.e., weekend hours, travel, etc.):
Office located in Manhattan at 325 Hudson Street. Travel to other Metropolitan Center locations (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island) may be required. Evening hours to support information sessions and other events, as needed.
Rank/Salary: $45,000+, depending on qualifications.
