The Staff Engineer / Technologist will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Execute with some guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks; mentors others in the organization
Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a High School Diploma / GED with at least 4 additional years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering field

Demonstrated Machining / Methods engineering, Quality, and Process Development experience in aerospace business
Experience as methods engineer or VPE with good insight into shop needs and priorities
Experience with cutting tool application in high temperature alloys
Previous experience using engineering tools and systems like UG CAD / CAM
Strong observation and documentation skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools
Additional experience designing and implementing new products using the NPI process
An understanding of Six Sigma tools to make data-based recommendations and decisions
Ability to successfully work in a team environment
