Responsible for medical oversight of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Fellows in the outpatient clinic of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Participates in direct outpatient care, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, bone marrow harvests, consent procedures, new donor and patient workups, patient triage, and patient or donor counseling. Assists primary transplant attending in the outpatient management of complex transplant issues. Participates in administrative, educational, staffing, quality improvement, and problem solving functions. Documents and analyzes patient data. Collaborates in the development and implementation of treatment plans and coordinates patient care with ancillary clinical services. Makes appropriate referrals to consulting medical staff and provides follow up to referring physicians. (DN)
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience in bone marrow transplant is preferred.
Unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Tennessee.
OTHER CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must maintain active unrestricted privileges at SJCRH.
