Senior Counselor

The position will focus on the provision of clinical services, including psychological counseling and consultation in a broad-spectrum counseling center which is the primary counseling and mental health agency on the University at Albany campus. This position will include the implementation and evaluation of campus-wide prevention initiatives on a diverse university campus of approximately 18,000 students. More specifically, the incumbent will provide campus-wide leadership and consultation in one of a number of the Center’s ongoing prevention and early intervention initiatives, in response to changing campus needs.

Minimum Qualifications :
Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (ED) or internationally recognized accrediting organization

New York State licensed/certified (or license eligible) psychologist

Experience in prevention and early intervention

Experience in working with a university/college community

Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research and the application of research to practice

Preferred Qualifications :
Expertise in organizational leadership will be helpful in implementing, enhancing, and refining program-related initiatives and procedures

Experience in program development and the training and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students

Excellent networking and oral and written communication skills

Experience in survey administration, research methods, and data analysis

Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of prevention and early intervention programs and initiatives
