Gathers, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of data.
Serve as a bio-mathematical research associate services in support of the Injury Biomechanics Branch of the USAARL. Work may be complex, requiring critical and independent judgment.
1. Plans data collection, and analyzes and interprets statistical data from surveys, experiments, studies, and other sources.
2. Plans methods to collect information and develops questionnaire techniques according to survey design.
3. Conducts surveys, evaluates reliability of source information, adjusts and weighs raw data, analyzes and interprets statistics, and organizes results.
4. Prepares conclusions and predictions based on data summaries.
5. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids.
6. Participates in special projects as required.
Provide services related to the Injury Biomechanics research program, including the development of draft test plans and protocol documentationfrom literature reviews and data synthesis according to policy and procedures of the USAARL.
b. Provide scientific analytical services related to data
acquisition, instrumentation, data management, and data analysis
according to approved protocols, policies, and/or plans to
ensure quality, accuracy, and reproducibility of data/results
(e.g., by following scientific procedures, recording information,
documenting research, and properly storing data.)
c. Provide services related to the preparation of draft reports,
presentations, and other documentation on research progress and findings, which will be distributed, presented, and/or discussed within the laboratory and/or at scientific forums outside the laboratory.
d. Provide services for the coordination and execution of ongoing research studies and scientific reviews to include monitoring, maintaining, and documenting facility, capability, and supply readiness (e.g., by preparing space, selecting supplies and equipment, or designing testing devices).
e. The contractor may be required, on written authority of the Laboratory Commander, to fly on military aircraft or ride in military vehicles in the official conduct of duties of the position.
B.S. degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical science.
2-5 years of related statistical analysis experience.
Work experience in performing injury biomechanics research,
including the use of drop towers, materials testers, and ATDs.
Work experience in written and oral communications and interpersonal
Work experience using desktop publishing hardware and software
to draft material for internal reviews and scientific publication/presentation.
Work experience/training with human volunteer research.
Work experience in mathematics and data analysis and acquisition,
including scientific software packages such as MATLAB.
