Under the supervision of the OR Nurse Manager and the guidance and direction of the Charge Nurse for surgery systems, the Instrument Room Technician performs critical functions associated with instrument decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Surgical Technician Certification preferred. Require successful completion of an operating room technician course within 90 days.

Experience: Prefer six months to one year OR experience in a scrub role.

Other Skills: Must be able to read and write, hear and follow verbal and/or written instructions. Must wear hospital provided protective barrier attire while on duty.
