Basic Function

Player/coach who solicits new business and maintains current business levels to meet or exceed required revenue levels. Supervises employees (as applicable) and operations of a single store unit. Ensures execution of local community involvement and marketing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

With limited direction:

Displays a thorough and consistent pattern of understanding and demonstration of the Retail Value Proposition through the defined behaviors (Care, Choice, and Communication). Lives our company values and delivers world-class service.

70%(Player)

Increases new business by initiating contact with prospects through local store marketing efforts, community involvement, cold-calling (face-to-face and phone), quote calls, and walk-ins to build interest, match needs with products and services, and close the sale to meet the agreed upon production and active customer goals.

Expands business by proactively building relationships with existing customers (renewing policies, assisting them with alternatives in the event they have cancelled a policy, and selling new products) to meet the agreed upon production and active customer goals.

30% (Coach)

With an entrepreneurial spirit, leads employee(s) (as applicable) and operations of a single store unit as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to:

Training and mentoring Agents.

Scheduling Agents during store operating hours.
·
Managing performance (production, behavior, phone service qualitative and quantitative metrics, adherence to company policies, and time and attendance).

Managing store operations (including, but not limited to, coverage during operating hours, signage, marketing materials, supply levels and equipment needed for store(s)).
·
Assuming ultimate responsibility for daily deposits and adherence to cash handling procedures.
·
Serving as first point of contact for security issues.
·
Operating within their budget.
·
Communicates key competitive information to the Market Leader in a timely manner.
·
Maintaining and submitting required reports in a timely manner.
·
Performing additional duties as necessary to grow revenue and to improve the profitability of the company.

Ensuring store level marketing efforts and goals are achieved (includes, but is not limited to, schedules appropriate staffing levels, ensures complete set-up, ensures delivery of marketing materials, and participates in the event).

Technical
Competencies


Requires previous experience as an Agent (or equivalent) with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage a small number of Agents.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of local marketing.

Possesses the appropriate state insurance license to sell our product offerings.

Being bilingual in English and a second language may be required for the area.

A 2- or 4-year college degree or equivalent is required.

Demonstrates well-developed computer skills (internet, email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, hardware, keyboarding).

Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.

Has the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business reports relating to production, revenue and expenses and draw valid conclusions. Also has the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

Possesses the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.

Possesses advanced mathematical skills as it relates to the position.

New Agent Training (for awareness of what their new Agents are being taught so that they can properly support their new Agents).

Additional Dimensions

Will directly supervise Agents in a single store location (typically 0-3 Agents).

Will be expected to operate within assigned budget.

This is defined as a full-time (approximately 40-hour) position that will require additional hours worked.

Work schedules are posted on a monthly basis and individual schedules may vary to ensure coverage during store hours (Monday-Saturday).

Job Autonomy/ Accountability

Review of work activities is based primarily on periodic reports or if there happens to be a problem or exception.

Works to achieve near term (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually) goals within the level of authority granted to the position.

Ensures that the Agents are meeting minimum thresholds and are actively selling and managing performance (production, behavior, and attendance) accordingly.

Assists in the interview and selection process.

Holds accountability for all facets of store operations within the level of authority granted to the position.

Handles special projects as assigned.
